Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine was pretty low key. I spent the majority of Friday and Saturday night watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Seriously love this show and I was ecstatic to see it on Netflix. So, I spent entirely too much time glued to the TV this weekend. On Sunday my mom and I went for a beautiful hike. Fall in Tennessee has to be one of the most beautiful things in the world! It’s my favorite season.
I know I talk about how much I love chocolate and desserts, but the struggle is real. There are times when all I want is a huge shake from Sonic (my weakness) along with strawberry limeades. Thankfully I’ve resisted going to Sonic (it’s only 2 miles from our apartment). When I’m craving something sweet I love to blend up this avocado chocolate shake. It’s only four simple ingredients!
All you need to make this chocolately beauty are: almond milk, cocoa powder, frozen bananas, and avocado. You just throw all of the ingredients into your blender and bam! The avocado makes the shake super creamy (mmm) and filling. Avocado always keeps me full for hours.
I’m no cooking expert by any means, but my tip for bananas would be to ALWAYS keep frozen bananas in your freezer. I cut up a few bananas each week and lay them in a single layer on parchment paper in an air tight container in my freezer. This makes it super easy to have them ready for smoothies and “shakes”. Also, having frozen bananas on hand eliminates having to use ice which makes the texture less creamy.
